Dr. Navina Jafa, the heritage consultant for SRDC, narrated the political struggle of the Lodhis in establishing themselves in India, the architecture of the garden and a few anecdotes about the villages that grew around the monument. The group also saw the ‘Athpula’ or the ‘Eight Piered Bridge’, one of the last buildings built during Akbar’s reign. Ms. Rita Kumar, Managing Director of SRDC, encouraged the teachers to involve the students actively in the heritage conservation programmes through their respective heritage clubs.Students of class XI went for a heritage walk to Qutub Minar on 20th August, 2011Honourable Chief Minister Ms. Sheila Dixit inaugurated a Heritage event titled “Dadi poti ki kahaniyan” organised by SRDC on 6th August, 2011.Our school being involved in the project attended the event and our students enjoyed interacting with the CM, Dr. Kiran Walia and Ms. Sushma Seth. The ‘Kids For Tigers’ fest was held on 18th April at Teen Murti Bhawan. 56 students participated in variousevents like game stall, save our tiger advertisement ,music from junk, cloth bag painting, face painting etc. Our school got the first prize in “Save our Tigers advertisement”.Go GREEN INDIA-Earth care initiative 2011 supported by the Times Group and JSW organized interschool activities like essay writing, painting, and quiz, at Don Bosco School, Alaknanda, Delhi. Our students were appreciated for their work for the same.
