The school received the Connecting Classrooms Global School Partnership grant from the British Council. The  school has partnered with Pevensey  &  Westham Church of England School in Pevensey, UK for the program. Under the program, the two schools will organize collaborative projects and teacher exchange visits. 4 teachers and board administrators from  Stockholm, Sweden, visited the school on 4th  February 2013. They  introduced the staff members to the Global Citizen Program and discussed possible cultural and project  exchanges between various grades of students. The ISA team of 6 students and 2 teachers attended an NDTV talk on ‘Homelands’. \            The keynote speakers  of the day were Mr. Shashi Tharoor and Ms. Ahdaf Soueif, an Egyptian            author currently living in the US. Ms. Barkha Dutt was the modulator for the event. The group            interacted with the speakers and the NDTV staff after the formal talk and returned inspired. A group of 14 students and 7 teachers from Fengtai Children’s Palace, China, visited the school on 18th February 2013 for an art and cultural exchange event. The visiting students demonstrated Chinese doll making and paper cutting, and learnt the art of Madhubani painting. They returned with fond memories of warm hospitality and the  beginning of a beautiful friendship. The association of German teachers had an interactive session hosted by The Ambassador of the Federal  Republic of Germany at the German Embassy on the occasion of  International Women's Day. The occasion was graced by Ms Nafisa Ali, actress and a social worker. Ms Priya Sethi of our school was invited to attend the  function. 10 students and one teacher attended the Earth Day celebrations at the American Center on  21st April. They  attended the screening of the short film Disney Nature Earth and enjoyed the exhibition of eco-friendly products  on display there. Ms Priya Sethi got the scholarship from Goethe Institute, Max Mueller Bhavan to attend a Seminar - cum -  Training session for 17 days in Berlin, Germany. Seminar was attended by 22 German Teachers from different  countries around the world and she was the only one representing India. The theme of the seminar was 'Berlin  Today'. During the course of the seminar, they enriched all the participants giving knowledge about the historical and geographical aspects of Berlin. Ms. Suchita Joon attended the International School to School Experience conference held at Ohio, Cincinnati  from 17th July to 20th July 2012. She represented the school’s proposals related to exchange programs for primary school students. The forum gave her an opportunity to discuss the concerns of the parents and students and  teaching pedagogies in the two countries. Mrs. Sonia Chhabra Head Mistress (Primary), attended the S.M.I.L.E (Science, Mathematics, Innovation,  Leadership, Engineering) Learning Programme hosted by the STB (Singapore Tourism Board) in Singapore from 26/08/2012 to 31/08/2012.  A team of 12 students and two teachers, Ms. Pooja Lakhotia and Ms. Akanksha Sehgal returned after a very  successful exchange trip to  Xinmin Secondary School, Singapore.The team of students and teachers from  Singapore will visit Bal Bharati from 24th November 2012. Twenty two students of the school participated in the ‘Art in a shoe’ competition organized by Mundiarte,  Argentina. All the entries were highly commended by the Mundiarte team. The Kennedy Space Center selected a picture of the group from Bal Bharati, Pitampura,that visited the facility in May 2012 to be displayed in the visitor photo gallery of their website.  The school participated in the Global Truce Peace Day event held globally by the Face to Faith Foundation.  Various activities were organized to spread the message of peace: Primary and Senior students expressed their conviction in ‘Peace’ by collecting messages on the theme from  their teachers and classmates. Under the ISSE exchange programme 11 students & Ms. Minnie Arora  visited  Mount View Primary School,  Melbourne,Australia from 18thJuly2012to 29th July 2012 .The first day the delegation was taken  around the  school & introduced  to different grade teachers  During the week the delegation was taken to a  wildlife sanctuary & for a city tour .  A cultural programme was  presented by the Indian delegation on the last day of the school  .The love shown by the  Australians  was  very heart warming & the group came back with many warm memories . The students of classes 9, 10 and 11 participated in the UN Art festival ‘The Future We Want’. They created an  art work with oil on canvas and did a write-up on the theme. The art work was sent to the UN office in Delhi to be a part of an inter school exhibition The students of the Meal Planning Department participated in an event organized by the Australian High  Commission in Delhi ‘Gary and George Unplugged’, wherein they interacted with and prepared Indian delicacies to be judged by the star chefs from the famous show Masterchef Australia. Ms. Rajni Dogra along with 10 students from the Primary Department participated in the International Youth  World and Peace Festival held at Chendgu (China) from 21/10/2012 to 31/10/2012. The students performed  Indian Traditional Classical Dances during the opening and closing ceremony. A group of 22 students and 3 teachers from Xinmin Secondary School, Singapore came to Bal Bharati Public  School, Pitampura, under a Bicultural Exchange Programme from 21/11/2012 to 28/11/2012. They were taken for Delhi sightseeing tour, Akshardham, Pratapgarh Farms, Kingdom of Dreams. Also, a Theatre  workshop was  conducted for them. They played basketball and cricket matches with our students. A workshop on Hydro  Rocketery was also organized for them. 19 students and three teachers of Tech Monterrey School, Mexico visited the school on 7th December 2012.They interacted with the students of class 11 on issues such as youth identity, religion and environment. Students of classes III,IV,V and VI visited Singapore from 26/10/2012 to 31/10/2012. The highlight was a night  over at the aquarium. Two teachers along with 15 students of classes 9th and 11th visited Dubai from 1/11/2012 to 6/11/2012. They  visited all famous places of the city including Burj Khalifa, Dhow cruise, Desert Safari and Snow Park. Besides  these, they also got a chance to visit “Jumeira Mosque” where they got hands on experience of Islam as a  religion.
