21st Annual Inter-School English debate was organized in Bal Bharati public school, Pitampura on 27th April 2010. Twenty teams from different schools participated in the event. The topic of the debate was “The virtual world has taken the youth away from the real world”. The event began with the auspicious lamp lighting and invocation. The Vice Principal Ms. Loveleen Kapoor welcomed the judges as well as the participating teams. The participants spoke well in favour of the motion as well as against it. Some supported the real world by giving very valid points like “Virtual world can never be real” or “Virtual world gives impetus to cyber crime” etc. Students speaking against the real world commented that it is not wise to turn against the technology as it is a key to progress. Moreover, the crime is everywhere and cyber world is no exception. The host team was assessed as the best team. But being the host team it could not claim for rolling trophy. The rolling trophy was won by the second best team, i.e.“DPS Rohini”. “Alisha Sachdeva” from “BBPS Gangaram” was awarded the best speaker award whereas “Sahil Kamra” of “BBPS Pitam Pura” received the second best speaker award. The judges Ms. Ira Sehgal from NIE and Ms. Neena Wagh gave the children some tips for excelling in debates. The event was just another one in the series to win accolades for the school.

The students of class 11 took part in a poster making competition
which  helped to reveal their awareness about autism.More than 40 students participated.
 Entries of five students were shortlisted for their awareness and their ability to sensitise others. All the posters were displayed in Kamani Auditorium where a special concert in aid of autism was being held.Scholastic India is going to award these deserving students with books.

BBBS, Pitampura       provides wonderful opportunities for learning not only to its students but also to many others who        look forward to be a part of this pioneer institution. The statement was proved true again when Mr. Richard       Bettini  got a chance to come to BBPS, Pitampura for his research on Indian culture. Mr. Bettini, who       is doing his masters in   English from Wisconsin University holds a great deal of interest in       Indian culture. To gain first hand experience of   it he decided work in the milieu which is       the most suitable for his research. It was then BBPS, PitamPura was   recommended to him. As       a part of his work, he visited various classes. Not only did he observe the classes but           also was quite zealous to teach the students. He was quite happy to see the response of the students and        loved    interacting with them. He was curious to know about the board examination system        and was eager about the    implementation of some of the teaching methods used here in his        country as well. He confessed that he was impressed    with the education system in India.
