Maths and Sustainability

Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present, without
compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Exponential and
logistic equation models are used in studies like growth of population, water quality, fishery
and economy. Mathematical modelling has a vital role to play for a sustainable development.

                                Music

We love music and patterns. We love it when things fall into
place, when the last piece of the puzzle fits and when a piece
of music returns triumphantly to the tonic.
In both Mathematics and Music, a classic kind of pattern
   comes from symmetry.
In music, two sounds go together when the ratio is a whole
number and don’t go together, when it is irrational. For
instance, the ratio 3/2 gives a musical fifth, 4/3 gives a
musical fourth and 8/5 gives a musical fifth. This is because Stock market
a musical piece is made up of beats played in rapid
succession. The importance of role of Mathematics in the and Maths
way we perceive sounds and musical notes is indeed
   unimaginable!

                                             What is quantitative trading?
Often referred to as quant trading, quantitative trading is a method of
trading that relies on complex mathematical and statistical models to
identify and, in most cases, execute trading opportunities in a chosen
financial market. It is an extremely sophisticated type of market strategy
that uses quantitative analysis to find trading edges in the markets.

The history of mathematics in the
biomedical sciences can be traced back to

Maths when drawing up statistical graphs

   CAT scans. Numbers provide an
   abundance of information for medical

   computation algorithms such as neural
